If you've been enduring another Ottawa winter, here's a reminder of what's just around the corner, and it looks absolutely stunning.
The Spring Preview
Ottawa Tourism shared a beautiful glimpse of the city in spring: cyclists along sun-drenched pathways, blooming trees framing iconic views, and the kind of bright, warm energy that makes you remember why you love this city. The message? Hang on, it's almost here.
Spring in Ottawa doesn't arrive gradually. It bursts open. One week you're trudging through slush, and the next you're eating lunch on a patio in the sun. That transition, as jarring as it sounds, is something Ottawa residents look forward to all year long.
What to Expect
When spring finally settles in, the city transforms. The pathways along the Ottawa River and Rideau Canal fill with cyclists, joggers, and rollerbladers. Patios open up across the Glebe, Westboro, and ByWard Market. The tulips start appearing in Commissioners Park. Parks and green spaces fill up with families, picnickers, and outdoor yoga classes.
Share Your Spring Shots
Ottawa Tourism is also inviting locals and visitors to share their spring photos using the hashtag #MyOttawa. Whether you catch the perfect shot of a bike ride along the river, the tulips in bloom, or a golden-hour evening in your neighbourhood, tag it and you might be featured.
The Best is Ahead
With longer evenings now in full effect thanks to daylight saving time, and temperatures steadily climbing, the next few weeks are going to be a great time to rediscover your city. Dust off the bike, plan a walk along the river, and start dreaming about those summer months ahead.
Ottawa in spring is worth every cold February day it took to get here.
