Ottawa's live music scene has never been more accessible or diverse. From the intimate listening room experience to arena-scale shows, the capital offers live music at every scale and genre. Here's your guide to the best venues in 2026.
The Big Stages
Canadian Tire Centre (Kanata): Home of the Senators and the region's largest concert venue. Touring arena acts, everyone from Taylor Swift to rock legends, play here. The acoustics are serviceable if unremarkable, and parking is the Ottawa suburb experience distilled.
Ottawa's Scotiabank Place (rebranding pending): The Centre also hosts the odd secondary stage production and has been the site of several memorable Ottawa concerts over the years.
Mid-Size Venues
Algonquin Commons Theatre: The college's arts venue gets underestimated but consistently books excellent shows, including folk, jazz, and world music acts that play nowhere else in the city.
Bronson Centre: One of Ottawa's hidden gems. A flexible performance space in Centretown that hosts everything from chamber music to punk rock, depending on the night.
The Centrum (Glebe): Rebuilt and reimagined, this Glebe venue is one of Ottawa's better mid-size rooms.
The Intimates
Rainbow Bistro (ByWard Market): Ottawa's home for blues, jazz, and Americana. The low ceiling and close sightlines make every show feel personal. A genuinely Ottawa institution.
Black Sheep Inn (Wakefield, QC): Technically outside Ottawa, but 45 minutes up the Gatineau Hills and worth every minute. One of Canada's finest small music venues, full stop.
House of TARG (Elgin Street): Retro arcade + live music + great food. The combination shouldn't work as well as it does, but House of TARG has been one of Ottawa's favourite venues for years.
