Environment Canada's tornado alert warned residents in the affected areas to seek shelter immediately as the storm cells developed. Along with the two confirmed tornadoes, the system brought large hail and pockets of intense rainfall capable of causing localized flooding. Damage assessments were still underway as of the weekend, with survey teams expected to confirm the strength and path of each twister in the days following the storm.
