Just when you thought winter might be loosening its grip, Ottawa is facing another dramatic weather event. A winter thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Ottawa-Gatineau area for Monday afternoon, and forecasters are warning that conditions could change rapidly.
Environment Canada has placed Ottawa, Cornwall, La Pêche, and surrounding communities under the watch as a cold front moves through the region. The front is expected to bring late-winter thunderstorms, a rare but not unheard-of phenomenon this time of year.
