An Ottawa driver has died following a single-vehicle collision in North Grenville, a rural municipality southwest of the city that many Ottawa residents pass through on trips along the Rideau corridor.
What happened
Grenville OPP say the 44-year-old Ottawa man died after his vehicle crashed on County Road 43 near Burritts Rapids Road shortly before 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 17. Officers from Grenville OPP, along with North Grenville firefighters and paramedics, responded to the scene.
County Road 43 was closed in both directions between Burritts Rapids Road and County Road 25 for several hours while investigators worked the scene. The road has since reopened to traffic.

This is the second serious case out of the Grenville County area to draw Ottawa attention in September. Earlier this month, ottown's earlier report covered a Smiths Falls man's first court appearance in connection with a Grenville County woman's death, a case that has similarly reverberated through the Ottawa Valley given how closely those communities are tied to the capital.
