What happened
Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly before 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 17. The driver, a 44-year-old man from Ottawa, was pronounced dead at the scene. Grenville OPP officers responded alongside North Grenville firefighters and paramedics.
No other details about the vehicle or the exact circumstances of the crash have been released.
Road closed for hours
County Road 43 was closed in both directions between Burritts Rapids Road and County Road 25 for several hours while crews worked the scene and investigators documented what happened. The road has since reopened.
Investigation continues
No cause has been made public.

The Ottawa connection
While the crash happened outside city limits, in North Grenville, the driver who died called Ottawa home. Kemptville and the wider North Grenville area sit close enough to Ottawa that plenty of residents commute, shop, and travel through the region routinely, meaning a serious crash there is felt in Ottawa as much as it is locally.
North Grenville has had its share of headlines this year already, from a confirmed tornado touchdown north of Kemptville in August to news of a new health clinic opening in the community.
No further updates on the victim's identity have been released, and OPP have not indicated when the investigation might conclude. Drivers travelling through the area are reminded that County Road 43 has since reopened, but that rural highways in the region can see sudden closures during active investigations.
