Ottawa's east end LRT extension to Orléans is inching closer to reality, with one of the final pre-launch milestones expected to begin testing in October, according to CBC Ottawa.

The extension, which will carry O-Train riders further east, still doesn't have a confirmed opening date. October's testing phase is a critical step before any service can be considered, giving engineers a chance to work out issues on the line before passengers are allowed on board.
