Former broadcaster Bill Pringle has lived with mental illness since the 1970s. He says he has been hospitalized more times than he can count, and has survived eight suicide attempts.

Pringle is sharing his story as Canadians mark World Suicide Prevention Day, an annual event meant to raise awareness and reduce the stigma around mental illness and suicide.
