A Farmer's Tribute to a Hockey Legend

Chip Hunter, a farmer in Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick, spent this growing season turning his corn field into a giant portrait of Montreal Victoire captain Marie-Philip Poulin.

Hunter told CBC's The National about the moment he unveiled the maze, cut in the shape of Poulin's face, on his farm. Poulin is one of the most decorated players in Canadian women's hockey history and now captains the Victoire in the PWHL.

Why It Matters

The maze is a small but striking example of how deeply Poulin's career has resonated across the country, reaching well beyond the rinks she has played in. It has not been reported whether the maze will be open to the public or for how long.
