Just west of Ottawa, the village of Carp is gearing up for its second annual Harvest Supper, a fundraising dinner that brings the region's farmers, chefs and neighbours together for one night at KIN Vineyards. The event runs Oct. 3 at the Carp vineyard, presented by the Village of Carp BIA with Scout Clean Energy as lead sponsor.
An evening built around local food
Organizing committee chair Jennifer Stewart, a former Carp BIA board chair, says the Harvest Supper exists to put West Carleton's agricultural community front and centre. "Carp and West Carleton have an incredible agricultural community, and supporting our local producers is really at the heart of this evening," Stewart said.
BIA co-chair Lisa Kyte described the night as a full experience rather than just a meal. "There is something pretty incredible about bringing people together at KIN Vineyards, sharing a meal made with food from our local producers and ending the night with music and dancing under the stars," Kyte said. The evening pairs a dinner sourced from area growers and producers with live music and dancing once the tables are cleared.
Supporting the West Carleton Food Access Centre
A handful of local businesses are backing the night as Harvest-level sponsors, including Cavanagh Construction, Ken White Construction, and Jason Ralph of Royal LePage Team Realty.
