Ottawa and the Government of Ontario are giving different accounts of how quickly the city asked for help after the July 1 flooding.

Ontario's emergency preparedness minister says it took the City of Ottawa eight days after the flooding to ask for cleanup help. Municipal officials say they were in regular contact with the province from the evening of the huge storm.
