Ontario Provincial Police say an asphalt spill has closed eastbound lanes of Highway 417 between Limoges and St. Albert Roads.

Fuller details on the spill, including exactly when it happened, how crews are clearing it, and when eastbound lanes are expected to reopen, have not been independently confirmed yet.

Other 417 work this fall

Ottawa drivers already had reason to watch the 417 this fall. As ottown's earlier report detailed, LRT construction is bringing a multi-week ramp closure at Place d'Orleans and a short full closure of the 417 planned for November.
