Road Closures Coming to Kanata
Ottawa is hosting its first GFNY international road cycling marathon this weekend, and that means several roads in Kanata will be closed to make way for the race.
The City of Ottawa Citizen reports the closures are tied to the event's debut in the capital, part of the global GFNY racing series that draws amateur and competitive cyclists to marathon-style road races. Specific streets and closure times have not yet been detailed in available reporting, so Kanata residents and anyone driving through the area this weekend should build in extra time and watch for signage and detour routes.
If you're heading through Kanata this weekend, check for posted road closure notices before you go, and expect a heavier-than-usual cyclist presence on nearby streets.
