An Ottawa store owner is speaking out after what he describes as a brazen theft at his shop on Rideau Street.
Summers Wang told CBC Ottawa he contacted police after a woman forcibly took money from the register at Mergi Shop over the weekend. Wang says this is not an isolated incident, he says a second of his stores has also been targeted recently.
Calling For Change
Wang is now pushing for faster police response times, saying small business owners in the area need to know officers will show up quickly when a crime is in progress.
No other details about the incident, including whether a suspect has been identified, have been released.
