Ottawa Valley investigators have a new theory in a three-year-old missing persons case that has haunted the region since 2023. Ontario Provincial Police say they now believe foul play is behind the disappearance of Brianna Traversey, a Petawawa woman who vanished that September and has not been seen since.
What happened
She was 29 years old at the time and would be 32 today. Police describe her as 5'8" (173 cm) and 120 lbs (54 kg), with shoulder length hair that may have been dyed brown or red. She also has two distinguishing tattoos: a breast cancer ribbon on her left shoulder and a Betty Boop tattoo on her right calf.
Investigators now believe foul play was involved
For three years, OPP investigators have conducted extensive interviews and multiple searches connected to the case, but no arrests have been made.
A $50,000 reward
The Government of Ontario is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Traversey's disappearance. It's a significant sum, and a sign of how seriously the province is treating the case now that foul play is suspected rather than simply an unexplained absence.
What Ottawa Valley residents can do

Three years on, Traversey's family and the OPP are still hoping someone comes forward.
