The 2026 Minto Dream Home, named the Beaumont, is a 5,340-square-foot house that blends Ottawa's architectural heritage with the elegance of Modern Parisian design, according to the Dream of a Lifetime lottery site.

Where it is and what it looks like

The Beaumont is located at 389 Vibert Douglas Drive in Brookline, Kanata, part of the Kanata North community that's become one of the city's most sought-after new build areas. The home's standout feature is a dramatic three-storey solarium, the kind of architectural statement piece that immediately sets it apart from a typical suburban build.

Inside, the kitchen is built for serious home cooks: a chef-inspired layout with an oversized island and a separate spice kitchen, so the mess of real cooking can stay out of sight when guests are over. For entertaining, there's also a wine-tasting cellar tucked into the home, giving it a genuinely upscale, hospitality-focused feel rather than just extra square footage for the sake of it.

Built for every generation

What makes the Beaumont notable beyond the finishes is its accessibility-minded design. The home was planned with multigenerational living in mind, featuring wider hallways and generous doorways throughout, along with what the builder describes as thoughtfully planned living spaces. A private elevator serves all three levels, meaning the home can genuinely work for grandparents, parents and kids all under one roof without anyone being cut off from a floor.

That kind of planning matters in a city like Ottawa, where the cost of separate housing for aging parents or adult children keeps climbing. A single home designed to serve three generations comfortably, rather than one retrofitted after the fact, is a rare thing to see in a builder showcase.

The lottery and what's at stake

The Grand Prize itself, which bundles the home together with a vehicle, cash and additional services, carries a total approximate retail value of $3,647,903.44.

Tickets are $100 each, or three for $250, and the final deadline to buy in for the grand draw is Friday, December 18, 2026.

An Ottawa tradition with a cause behind it

Past ottown coverage has tracked other local fundraising efforts tied to the hospital, including ottown's earlier report on golfers braving summer heat for the annual Mayor's Charity Golf Classic in support of local youth programming, a reminder that Ottawa's charity calendar runs well beyond any single event.
