Ottawa has a new reigning quiz champion. Software developer Rian Robertson has won four straight games of Jeopardy!, according to a post from @shottawa.tv on Instagram, and his winnings now stand at $64,101 USD.

Another win on Tuesday

Robertson went into Tuesday's game as a three-day champion with $39,701. By the time Final Jeopardy came around, he had built what the post describes as a runaway lead.

The Final Jeopardy category was "Snacks." Robertson answered Doritos correctly and finished the game with $24,400. Add that to his earlier total and you get the $64,101 mark.

Fifteen years in the making

Part of what makes the run so fun to follow is how long it took to get here. According to the post, Robertson spent around 15 years trying to get on the show, reaching the audition stage several times before finally landing a spot this year.

That kind of persistence is familiar to anyone who has tried out for a game show, a team or a competitive program and been told "not this time." Robertson kept going, and now he is the one standing behind the podium at the end of the night.

What happens next

A four-game streak is a strong start, and Robertson is heading back for a fifth day. The post notes that a longer run could strengthen his case for a future postseason appearance on the show. We have not independently confirmed the postseason details, so treat that as speculation for now.

Still, a $64,101 total after four games is a serious haul, and the streak keeps growing the longer he holds the champion's spot.

Cheering from the capital

The account behind the post summed up the mood of a lot of Ottawa viewers with one line:

"We may have a legend in the making."

Whether or not the streak reaches legendary status, Robertson has already given the city a reason to tune in. If you are an Ottawa Jeopardy! fan, keep an eye on his next game to see whether he can make it five in a row.

We will update this story if his run continues.
